Tooth Extractions
using a new painless technique
The main aim of our dental practice is to keep teeth in the mouth, by using therapies and prosthestics. At the VSmile Piraeus dental clinic, when we have exhausted all of the options available in modern dentistry, we will proceed with extraction in the following circumstances:
- increased movement of the tooth due to peridontitis
- advanced tooth decay
- a fracture close to the root that prevents replacement in any order way
- covered or partially covered teeth in the gums that cause problems to the mouth or adjacent teeth
- extra teeth or ectopic teeth that cause problems cosmetically or are causing an obstruction
- apical damage where endodontic treatment or other reconstruction technique is not possible
- for orthodontic reasons
- for cosmetic reasons
In order for the extraction to take place, it is neccsary to take a digital x-ray of the inside of the mouth, in some cases a panoramic x-ray may be necessary, so that the dentist can get a clear idea of the case. Before the extraction, a full medical & dental history is taken, so that measures can be taken for patients with specific medical conditions (e.g. patients with heart conditions).
The extraction process is either done using a simple extraction method or a surgical one.
