Microbes from the toilet on your toothbrush!
In accordance to a study in 2011, the toothbrush, is in thrid place on the list on the list of the dirtiest things in the house. The explanation for this is that the toothbrush is usually located on the bathroom sink, so that everytime we flush the toilet small droplets full of microbes land on the toothbrush's exposed head. to keep your toothbrush clean, protect it with a cap and keep it in a closed area.
How should I choose my toothbrush?
From the technical side of toothbrush design the VSmile team suggest the following general characteristics:
- the head lenght, to be relatively small for that you can access the hard to reach areas easily and avoid causing retching
- the bristles to be made of nylon, as they catch less microbes than natural fibres
- to have rounded bristles, so that tissues are not damaged
- to be a medium on the soft to hard scale so that the gums aren't damaged and ename isn't scratched
- the handle is best not to be straight, if it has a slight angle it will assist with access to the back teeth like the handles of dental tools.
